General Terms and Conditions of Enrolment
Please read all General Terms and Conditions of Enrolment in full before enrolling on a course/qualification, as they apply to all bookings and are deemed incorporated into your contract with HFI Training. They do not affect your statutory rights.
Prior to enrolment, you will need to confirm that you have read our course information on our website and the full syllabus, and/or talked with Alison Hall, to decide which course(s) or qualification(s) is best for your needs. While we will do all that we can to help you make the right choice, the ultimate decision is yours and yours alone.
For any queries, please call on 0208 568 5336.
Cancellations and Transfers
By paying for the course with a deposit or in full (with or without signing your Enrolment Form) you are agreeing to undertake your training. You have the right to cancel your diploma/module(s), providing we receive the request in writing within 7 days of you paying your deposit or in full (whichever is sooner). After 7 days of signing, no cancellations are permitted and no refunds will be given. If you owe instalments they will become payable in due course. All courses are not transferable to another person. If you cancel within the 7 days you must return all supplied training materials in a re-saleable condition at your own expense and apply in writing for a refund. All items must arrive in the condition in which you received them, otherwise you will be charged their replacement value.
When you book a diploma or package consisting of 2 or more modules, you are purchasing a single product. Once the first module has commenced, the whole diploma is deemed to have commenced. For those modules that include online learning, the module is deemed to have commenced 7 days after enrolment. You can choose the dates of your practical workshop and assessments at any time, from the list of available dates and centres we publish. Whether you have already chosen your dates makes no difference to your rights to cancel. All courses and diplomas must be completed within 1 year of your training commencing, following this your course will be terminated.
Paying in Instalments
Your payment due dates will be outlined in your joining email. Failure to pay on or before any of the due date will cause your course to terminated without and refunds being due to you.
Workshop and Assessment Date Transfers
Booking a workshop date, assessment date or live online tuition course makes that place become unavailable to others. The closer to the booked date, the more difficult it is to sell the place to someone else. If you get into a situation where you feel you must defer your booked date on a practical workshop, assessment, or online learning session we will do everything we can to accommodate your request. However, we may not be able to fill the space and therefore there will be a charge of up to the whole course fee to transfer.
If you fail to contact us to arrange a deferral prior to a workshop, you will forfeit your place and will therefore be required to pay for the whole module again if you wish to re-book. If, owing to unforeseen circumstances, HFI Training is compelled to change the agreed date or venue for a practical course or assessment, we will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible and will take reasonable steps to book you onto the earliest available practical course or assessment convenient to you.
Qualification Pre-requisites
It is your responsibility to be honest about which qualifications you have prior to booking the course. It is stated on the website which qualifications are required to take the course and you are required to check the box to say that you have the required prerequisites before you book the course. It is your responsibility to send a copy of the required certificate(s) as soon as possible. If you are unsure about the qualification you have then make sure you send the copies to us BEFORE you register for the course. If It is proven that you do not hold the certificates later on after registration the course will be cancelled and no fees will be refunded.
Written assessments and written course work
When taking an exam, submitting any case study or any written assignment or worksheet (eg Workbook/Portfolio (LAP) work), if you are unsuccessful with your first attempt, subsequent retakes and re-submissions will incur a charge.
If you are unable to meet an agreed deadline for either LAP work, a case study or exam you will incur an administration charge, the amount depends on the length of additional time required. We advise students to keep a copy of all work submitted for marking as we will ask you to pay shipping costs if you want us to return work to you. Work is only stored for 3 months, after this period it will be destroyed.
Practical assessments
Please note that for all of the qualifications with a practical assessment, you must bring a friend with you to act as a participant. Failure to do the above will result in the assessment being cancelled and you having to pay again for a new assessment. If you fail an assessment and elect to take it again, or you wish to defer an assessment, an additional fee is payable. Retake assessments may not be available at the original location. Retakes incur an additional charge, for DVD submissions of practical assessments you must use friend(s) as your client(s) and film the session in an empty gym to ensure no person is filmed without their permission. You are also responsible for making sure the film is of sufficiently high quality to allow marking of the work. Failure to do the above will result in the assessment being cancelled and you having to pay again for a new assessment. If you fail an assessment and elect to take it again, or you wish to defer an assessment, an additional fee is payable. See our retake and remark costs here.
Assessment only Route for those claiming Recognition of Prior Learning
Applicants to attempt qualifications by the assessment only route do so at their own risk and all assessment preparations are the responsibility of the candidate concerned. HFI will assess eligibility to take qualifications without purchasing the full course to the best of their ability but take no responsibility to provide specific resources or assistance that to prepare appropriately and fully. Preparation for assessments without the accompanying HFI course is not recommended as it requires specific knowledge of and insight into the appropriate awarding body’s current syllabus and qualification skills criteria.
