REPs level 2 and 3 are the main levels of registration to be gained.
REPs 2 is gained by the FULL level 2 Instructor Certificate (eg Gym).
REPs Level 3 is gained under the title of FULL level 3 Personal Trainer or Level 3 Advanced Gym Instructor.
REPs level 2
To work in a gym
= Level 2 Gym Instructor
REPs Level 3
To work as a personal trainer (employed or self-employed).
= Level 3 Personal Trainer + paid gym instructor work experience while you study your level 3
Provisional REPs Level 3
Sport/exercise graduates or ACSM HFS certified trainers will be granted provisional level 3 status for 1 year following graduation. Those at provisional level 3 can become FULL level 3 with our Level 3 PT ASSESSMENT ONLY OPTION.
Additional Level 2 and 3 Modules
Additional modules at level 2 and 3 does not alter the level 2 or 3 status. Many instructors waste time and money acquiring additional modules that they may not need or benefit from.
Instructors and trainers do not require any level 2 or 3 add-on modules unless these are specifically requested by an employer. the ACSM CPT covers many of the level 2 and 3 modules within its syllabus, the ACSM HFS covers all the level 2 and 3 add-on module knowledge and many of the level 4 ones.
REPS Level 4
These qualifications are specialist modules may be required by some employers dealing with GP referrals or personal trainers dealing with special populations.
