This course is for candidate who are starting out and want to start in the industry as a Level 2 Exercise to Music Instructor rather than a Level 2 gym instructor. These candidates are required to take all 6 units in the qualification (£595.00). This course is also for those who are already Level 2 Gym or Level 3 Personal Trainer qualified who want to add exercise to music to their skill set. These candidates only need to take the practical units 5 and 6 (£395.00).

For those who have a previous level 2 gym there is no face-to-face attendance, assessments or elearning.

For those who do not have the level 2 gym the course is a full elearning course and there is a practical training video to help all candidates to work through the practical skills required. The practical assessment is completed via DVD and there is one face-to-face date is required for the theory assessments. Candidates can choose to take the intensive root which would be a minimum of 3 weeks or slower and steadier up to one year.

Entry Requirements

• Extensive experience of studio-based exercise classes is required AND access to a Level 2 ETM mentor to guide you through the practical skills practice.
• The course requires physical exertion and individual participation is essential; therefore, a degree of physical fitness is necessary
• There is also an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) involved and learners should have basic skills in communication pitched at level 2

Target Learners:

• Adults (aged 16+) wishing to pursue a career in the health and fitness sector as studio-based fitness instructors
• Please note that 16 to 18 year-olds may need to be supervised in the workplace, once they have achieved the qualification.

- DVD submission for practical assessment
- Portfolio of work to hand in (units 5 and 6 only as units 1,2, 3 and 4 have been covered in the Level 2 Gym)

ii) Blended or distance learning (for those NOT already holding Level 2 Gym Instructor) 
- Home study and guided learning
- Practical DVD guide
- DVD submission for practical assessment
- Theory assessments (units 1 and 4) at one of our monthly dates in London
- Portfolio of work to hand in (6 units) 

Location of Assessment

This course is taken by purely distance learning (for those who already have the Level 2 Gym Certificate) so there is no location to attend. For those who don't already have the level 2 Gym Certificate and who choose to attend face-to-face the location is London Metropolitan University at 166-220 Holloway Rd, London N7 8DB. It is 2 minutes walk from Holloway Road tube station which is on the Piccadilly Line.
