This qualification is comprised of one unit "Facilitating Behaviour Change for Health and Well-being" and is offered in a pure distance learning format. There is a practical assessment which is submitted via DVD.

This qualification is a Level 3 Award and is an essential part of the role of a fitness instructor or personal trainer. The Level 2 Gym and Level 3 Personal Trainer qualifications cover the "what" your clients should be doing and this course provides candidates with the "how to" give advice your clients to do it. Candidates can complete the qualification within about 3 weeks or take a more steady approach taking up to 6 months.

This course is taken purely by distance learning so there is no location for you to attend.

Entry Requirements

• There are no specific entry requirements
• There is an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) involved and learners
should have basic skills in communication pitched at level 2

• To provide learners with the knowledge of different psychological theories and behaviour change approaches that can be used to support health and well being
• To provide learners with the knowledge to be able to understand the role of the facilitator in supporting health and well being
• To provide learners with the skills to be able to demonstrate effective helping techniques
• To provide learners with the skills to be able facilitate group discussions about a range of health behaviours
• To provide learners with the skills to be able to reflect on their own practice

- Worksheet
- Observation of practical skills (dvd submission) and self-evaluation of own performance.
