Exam Preparation Review

When to take the Workshop and the Certifications
When entering at ACSM level, the 4-day ACSM workshop is the first step, although candidates taking the CFI as their fitness instructor qualification are quite well prepared for the CPT as the CFI is based on ACSM guidelines. Then the ACSM cPT exam is taken. Then, the ACSM HFI exam is taken. Taking the ACSM cPT is a good "stepping stone" to the "main" ACSM qualification - the ACSM HFS. The ACSM HFS can be attempted without the ACSM cPT for the more confident candidates.

Which Level is for me?
If you are unsure about which certification is most appropriate for you, review the KSAs in the syllabus section of this site which highlight the knowledge and skills required at each level of certification. Alternatively call HFI to discuss your individual case to find the appropriate level of certification for you.
