Your ACSM Preparation

Whichever ACSM Qualification is right for you at this time, you may wish to prepare by attending an intensive workshop or by guided or non-guided self-study. Workshop preparation for the ACSM CPT and ACSM HFS is called the ACSM Gold Standard Workshop. Workshop preparation for the ACSM CES is the ACSM CES Workshop. Whether you are choosing workshop or self-study options, candidates require access to ACSM Study materials.

Scheduling and Taking the ACSM Certification Exam

About the Exam

• All ACSM Certification Exams are offered on-demand, in computer-based format, at authorised testing centres. There is a network with over 5,200 test centres in 162 countries, which means you can take the ACSM Certification Exam at a time, date and location that is convenient to you. You can schedule your exam through HFI and it’s usually possible to register up to 24 hours before your desired test time. 

The ACSM Certification Exam may include pictures and/or video segments; all questions are multiple choice.  All exams are offered in English worldwide.  The ACSM Certified Personal Trainer is currently offered in Spanish and Simplified Chinese.  Additional exam translations will be available in the future.
